Change Your Routine

Change Your Routine

Is there such a thing as meaningful “rest” in the biblical sense of the term? Some would respond by saying, “No way! The Bible doesn’t say we should take time to rest.” Are they correct?

I suggest to you that you break from that belief that Christians are not to rest and relax from time to time. We will study this subject in more detail during our worship hour together. By the way, this sermon topic is a first for me, how about you?

While preparing for my lesson, I came across a list of things we can do that will help us blow the dust of boredom off our busy schedules, and bring some zip to our leisure.

• Begin an exercise program.
• Begin walking every day.
• Start writing letters (cards) of encouragement to people you appreciate.
• Make something with your hands and give it to somebody.
• Plant a flower garden and give them away.
• Cook something special and give it to someone in need.
• Spend time at the Library...Sit back and read, read, read.
• Plan a camping trip with one of your children, your mate or with a church group.
• Pull out all those old snapshots, sort them, put them into your computer or album.
• Write some poetry and give it to your spouse.
• Take someone to a local museum and treat them to lunch.
• As often as you can, watch a sunrise and sunsets.
• Look for things to laugh at...And laugh out loud (Prov. 17:22)
